I guess this was inevitable, but with the fair bit of rain we got over the weekend, it was a good opportunity to "learn" that all that brick on the back of the house, and the downspout at the north-west corner of the house were not just for show.
Anyway, that corner of the basement got a little soggy this weekend. We took off a bit of wallboard to verify there were no visible cracks in the old foundation. It's likely just that there is a bunch more water that is not being carried away form the foundation as it was before.
We're looking into whether we can deal with the drainage issue in a temporary way, but it may be something we just have to deal with until we have a roof on the addition, and can get the drainage situation back to normal.
