No pictures today, just a textual update on things.

Water

We got a fair bit of rain Sunday and today, but things are under control in the basement.  We're still trying to get rid of the smell in the carpet from when it got wet last week.  Tuesday/Wednesday were supposed to be sunny, but I see now the forecast has a 30% chance of rain.  Yuck.

Electrical

The electrician came today to start work on the new electrical panel, hydro mast, etc.  I'm very happy, on the whole, with where things will be located.  If hydro puts the overhead wires where the electrician figures they will be located, the wires won't really be visible in the view from the south window, nor will the maple tree in the backyard be endangered by wires running over top of it.  Had we known that the overhead hydro could work this way, we probably would not have bothered looking that closely into underground.

The hydro mast is on the south wall of the existing house, but the wire follows the outline of the foundation wall, and feeds directly into the workshop area of the addition.  From there, a feeder line will supply power to the electrical panel in the existing house.  I'm hoping that some of the circuits from the old panel can be moved to the new one, but this remains to be seen.  No doubt, at least some of the circuits will be too short, and have to stay where they are.

Construction

With the rain today, there wasn't tons of work on the addition.  Some cleanup around the site, and the beginnings of constructing the second storey balcony.  There was also a small bit of construction inside the basement so that the new electrical panel could be installed.

Packing Up

We went to U-Haul on the weekend and bought a bunch of moving boxes and packing supplies.  Then it was time to start packing up extraneous items.  Much more to do on that front, but we are making progress.  It won't be much longer before the existing house will also be a construction site, and we'll be setting up camp in less disturbed portions of the house.  I'm guessing another couple of weeks and then it will be camping time.
