Beginnings of the Roof Structure

With the hydro service out of the way, attention turned today to the roof.

Lots of roof joists were installed over top of the doug fir beams.

Some of the roof overhang on the existing house was cut away to prepare to join the old roof onto the new one.  There is quite a bit more overhang still to be removed.

Our house has exposed decorative rafter-ends.  Here you can see one cut-away as part of the overhang.

Sadly, the decorative rafter-ends on the front of the house were cut away by a previous owner to install eavestrough.

The changing view from across the street.
