Let's look at mystery object(s) #2 in the intended environment.

When you look at the plans, you see all the lines denoting the various plywood panels, but you don't get a sense for the fact that essentially every one of these things has to be uniquely cut-out.  The crew has to keep all the panels numbered to make sure they go up in the correct spot.

all of the black strapping forms a set of reveals in between the individual panels.  The fasteners we will use are on back-order, so the panels have been put up with temporary fasteners.

Between having to cut each panel individually to size, and then put them up all straight and even, this will be fiddly work to do.  Most of the wood panels will be on the second storey, but there are a few on the ground floor as well.

Inside the house, we have something new as well.  One of the challenges of the exterior entrance is that the vestibule area is quite small, yet we still wanted to allow for space for us to take off coats and boots in the winter.  This won't be a high-traffic entrance for guests, but it will be our way into the house when coming from the car.  The exact details of what to do with the vestibule have been a bit vague until a few weeks ago, when we met with Frank to iron out the basic details.

This is what you see, coming in the back door.  We'll put a few coat hooks on the wall above the bench.  Under the bench, there is room to tuck shoes and boots.

The sink deck is not flat enough, so we will somehow have to get Ridalco to bend or flatten things into shape.

Handles have been installed on the steel drawers for the island.  The steel doors on the cabinets above the fridge are also installed, but I didn't get any decent pictures of them.  Perhaps next time.

Paint colours are all selected, and the painter should be starting on things very soon.  We were also at Home Despot tonight and have selected the laminate floor for the basement.
