We've been at the hotel for the past two nights. It is same-old same-old with the exception that the desk is repositioned in the room, and now we have to turn left to get to the elevator when leaving instead of turning right.
Meanwhile, the house continues to progress...
new tile in the laundry room. No more pitted concrete floor.
and on towards the basement part of the addition. The tile will continue in the bit of hallway at the bottom of the step.
The old floor has been sanded
We will be using a natural finish on the floor, so it'll look not very much darker than this, but the look of the wood improves greatly compared to the bare sanded wood.. We will be keeping the wood trim as-is along with the stringers and risers on the stairs.
the floors are oak, however, the stairs are ash.
