Here is the state of the exterior as of this morning. There are more panels installed now, but of course it was too dark to photograph by the time I got home. The corrugated metal has arrived, so this will likely be installed soon as well.
Countertops, Day 1
Installation of the soapstone counters also began today. There is more to do, but we're off to a good start.
The countertops haven't been sanded and oiled yet, so they are still in the natural colour. Once the oil is applied, they will become much darker.
our Swiss sink, made by Franke. Once the counters are done, we will be able to get the plumber to hook up the sink, and then we'll have water available without going to the basement.
Nice thick stone
a seam between two slabs, coated with epoxy. This will be sanded down, etc. The look of the stone once oiled is more like it shows here with the epoxy.
The cabinets above the fridge have steel doors installed.
