Lots of pictures today, maybe a bit short on the words. I'm sitting on the floor of the living room, because the wireless in the kitchen is a bit spotty. Crappy Hotel Wireless replaced by Crappy Home Wireless.
Today, Gerald's wife Linda was here again, and she gave the main floor and second floor a really good cleaning. It'll still get dirty again before the project is done, but it should not be as bad as in the past.
There was also more progress on painting and trim, but we're waiting for plumbing, electrical, and tile.
The new mattress came today. The wireless ain't so good up here either. Eventually, I'll be able to move the wireless access point to the main floor and things should improve.
can't touch this. The closet rods are in, but the glue won't be dry till tomorrow.
can't touch this. Bath vanity for the ensuite. No plumbing yet, nor any pulls on the drawers and doors. Since it is the only live electrical outlet in the bedroom, it is being used for the alarm clock. The laminate used on the counter top is the same as is used on the toe-kick in the kitchen, and also the inside of the island behind the steel drawers.
can and can't touch this. Bath vanity for the main bathroom, sans plumbing. The toilet is working, and the tub is close, but not working yet. The shower head has been on back-order since the summer, but we'll be putting a temporary head on there tomorrow.
glass tile in the niche has been grouted.
preserving the family history. We'll paint the strip of door trim and leave the measurements intact.
We have the front entrance back. That's the piano under the orange tarp. The guys will move it tomorrow or Thursday.
Progress on the appliance front is a bit mixed. Here's the new fridge. It is not pushed back yet because the electrical outlet for the thing is not working...
...and the chintzy plastic wheels for the back of the fridge disintegrated when the delivery guys brought it in. Unfortunately, this means when the repair people show up in a couple of weeks to fix the wheels, we'll have to take everything out of the dammed fridge.
can touch this. The faucet for the main sink. For those interested in that sort of thing, it is also Swiss, made by KWC.
can't touch this...it'll be a couple of days to get plumbing and electrical lined up for the dishwasher.
can't touch this. The Fire Breathing Mini Behemoth. Gas fitter will be "sometime this week", and of course there is electrical to wait for.
