The roofers have started installing the seamed metal roof. It looks good so far. I didn't get a chance to take pictures before the daylight got scarce.
Also today, the HVAC people installed the new furnace and air conditioner. The installation looks done-ish, but without talking to someone, it's hard to know if there is still more to do.
We resolved several issues to do with the installation of the bathtub in the main bathroom, and we've begun to look at how to rearrange the laundry room to neaten things up. With a lot of the plumbing and electrical fixtures being removed, the new laundry room setup should be much nicer when things get shifted around and we install some Ikea cabinets (not Gorm shelves thank you very much).
In order to install the furnace, the hot water tank had to be temporarily turned off. Unfortunately, it would not come back to life afterwards. It is a rental, so the gas company will replace it. However, replacement is not until tomorrow, so no hot water at least for tonight and tomorrow morning.
Last, but certainly not least, Frank came by to look at the ductwork and see what changes if any would be needed to the cabinetry. Unfortunately, it looks like we are in for big time changes in order to resolve this situation. It's never too late to redesign the kitchen I guess.
