No pics today...the past few days have seen a bit more demolition at the house, but most of it wasn't photo worthy. We also have the exterior doors on the addition now, and some of the old plumbing on the second floor is being demolished.
Wednesday, we had two meetings. The first was with CanadianSoapstone.com to look at a soapstone counter in real life. We were both impressed with the look of the counters, and will be using them for the kitchen counters that go along the walls. Now that we've decided on a countertop material, we can do final selection of the kitchen sink and faucet. We weren't sure until now whether we'd be able to use an undermount sink or not (we will). I had previously decided soapstone counters wouldn't work out well for us, but now that the kitchen design is firming up, it really does seem to fit the bill for what we need.
Then we met with Frank, the kitchen cabinet guy, and looked at a sample of the material from which he will build he island. This will be quite neat. The Mystery Island Material has its own set of complications when it comes to sinks, however. We are still sorting out how and where to source the small prep sink for the island.
We have a couple of weeks left here at the hotel, so we're starting to get ourselves arranged for camping inside the construction site...mostly trying to figure out where everyone will sleep and what they will sleep on, as well as where to put the cats where they will be safe and sound during all the construction.
