The Other Shoe is Ready to Drop

Gerald's greeting to us this morning was more or less "When are you guys going to move out so we can start the demolition?"

But enough about that, let's get to the pictures :-)

Second-storey door has been filled-in...

...only to re-appear on the west wall.  It was a brilliant blue day in the afternoon, but yet moreso under the blue tarp you can see through the doorway.

view of the second storey roof looking at the north wall.  On the right, you can see the roof over the ensuite bathroom sloping in the opposite direction to the main roof.

small bit of progress on the main floor.  The various bits of temporary bracing for the walls have been removed.

The windows arrive tomorrow, though they may not be installed until next week.  The focus is still to get the roof to be watertight.

On the subject of the interior demolition, we are trying to be clear of the house by Wednesday (less than a week from now).  The POD will arrive tomorrow, and we'll start packing our furniture and boxes into it.  Depending on whether or not the POD can be delivered onto our front lawn or not, we will either keep it there for a couple of months, or we will have them take it back to the central warehouse o' PODs once we have loaded in our stuff.

We have done quite a lot of packing and sorting, but there is still a good bit remaining to be done.

We also secured some temporary accommodations for a few weeks at an apartment hotel downtown so we can be away from the mega-dust during the demolition.

Things are about to get more "real" for us in a big way.
