More Progress

It's Tuesday evening, so something new must have happened by now, eh? Things look very similar outside, though there has been good progress from Friday.

The Platon membrane has been installed, along with the window wells.  The city building inspector was by yesterday to inspect the foundation walls.  Next up is the weeping tile and backfill.  It'll be nice to be able to walk again in the backyard, and maybe even climb down into the new basement.

Also another productive weekend for logistics.  We spent some quality time at Preston Hardware, and got all the bathroom plumbing fixtures picked-out.  Then it was off to a couple more tile places to look at tile for the bathrooms.  The tile choices are now in good shape as well.  We managed to find a new wall tile that was both nicer than the last one, and a good bit cheaper.  This is nice, since the most square footage of tile that we have is on the walls, and it was previously the most expensive tile we had on our list.

The window order has gone through several steps of refinement.  "Refinement" is, of course, a nicer way of saying "That change will cost you a couple of hundred dollars more".  We thought we were pretty well "refined" by the end of last week, but a couple of last minute dimensional issues were found on Monday that also could only be solved through additional rounds of "refinement".  We should be in good shape now to submit the order soon, though.

Next up this week for logistics is to meet with our kitchen contractor and keep things moving on that front.  I'm also back and forth to the aforementioned Preston Hardware to look at kitchen sinks and faucets.
