The Big Thud

Today was the day to cut out the entrance from the existing basement to the new part.  This kinda snuck up on me, but I was able to get the workshop area clear in time for them to make the cut.  Haven't had a close look at the results yet; but if the cut is clean, we are hoping to coat it with some urethane and leave it visible in the transition from old part to new.

The forms for the new foundation wall are about 1/3 of the way set-up now as well.

  2. Aren't they digging you a private tunnel from the road, Maddy?

  3. That would be fantastic. But it looks like they forgot to figure that into the foundation walls.

  4. Your door doesn't show Maddy - there is a tunnel beneath the foundation. I've asked that they install wine racks the length of the tunnel. Simone is getting the monorail option - the rail will run across the top of the garage to the driveway.

  5. Can the monorail have a subway feature,I want to ride it from the street to my underground layer and then to the kitchen. Mom you'll have to get really fast at reading wine labels so you can pull them off the racks as you speed by in the monorail.
