Update

I haven't blogged for a little while.  In the meantime, things have been busy around here.

More electrical work last week.  Electrical work on the addition is almost complete.  Don will be starting next week to install pot lights in the living room.  We determined the ceiling in there is drywall, not plaster...so pot light installation is a manageable amount of risk.  We also went to Marchand Electric and picked out some exterior sconce lights, and got some quotes on track lighting for the reading room.

The bathroom accessories order was finally received at Preston on Friday.  We picked it up, and so we should have towel bars etc installed this week.

The boys from Crossford have been busy looking after lots of small to-dos.  Among them.

  • cleaning plaster and footprints off the Doug Fir beams.
  • cleaning plaster off the exposed brickwork inside the house.
  • installing some moulding to deal with a place near the south window where the brickwork meets the adjacent painted wall.
  • put in a replacement brick to cover up the "mouse hole" in the kitchen.  This is the place where we used to have an electrical outlet at the outside of the house.
  • plastering over various holes in the walls and ceilings left behind by the electricians.
  • We have working fans in both bathrooms now.  They are very quiet.  So much in fact the one in the ensuite has been left on overnight by accident without us noticing.

From here on in, we're looking at paint touch-ups, some tile work, and changes to the downstairs shower.  Beyond that, most other things are outside work, and will need to wait until the spring, or at least until some milder weather.

That means we should get the house to ourselves soon.
