Scenes from a clear-cut

We’re getting a section of fence put in the backyard between the yard and the driveway.  To prep for this, we needed to remove a section of cedar hedge this weekend.

lots of digging, cutting, etc.  Jane bundled all the boughs with twine for pickup by the city.

I cut up all the trunks into future firewood.

We got through it all in a long afternoon+.  I would have been nice to have a friend with a chainsaw, or a friend with a wood chipper, but no matter.  Hand tools get the job done eventually.
